OUTriC lose out in Varsity Duathlon

Unfortunately, Varsity Duathlon went to Cambridge this year with a 3-1 loss, with CUTriC bringing their cross-country runners out in force and OUTriC missing some key members.

Tom Lewin won the men's, but only just as Patrick Roddy finished just 9 seconds behind. Petros Giannaros, CUTriC's President, finished in 3rd place with Charlton Bannister coming 4th. Fergus Cumming was just behind as the 3rd Oxford athlete to finish.

In the women's race, Laura Fenwick started strongly and was leading the race until a puncture half way round the bike course put her out of contention. Kate Curran of Cambridge took victory in the women's. The OUTriC novices raced well, with Niamh Walshe coming 1st for Oxford. Sadly, they were no match for Cambridge who had all 3 women in their Blues team finish before Niamh came in.

So we were unlucky this time! But we'll see how CUTriC fare this summer when they have to swim as well...
